At your inital consultation Dr. Zhou will conduct a full assessment of your unique hormone situation and diagnose the root issue. He will then recommend a course of treatment which usually combines both acupuncture and herbal medicine. His focus is adjusting and correcting the systems in the body to correct hormone imbalances that are creating excess symptoms. Often this involves supporting the adrenal glands which are over taxed by pyhsical stress, mental stress and diet. Secondary goals include reducing the risk of cardiovascular disease which increases dramatically after menopause, regulating the endocrine system, promoting digestion and inducing lipid metabolism.
